Saruni Lodge

The Saruni Lodge

The Saruni Lodge is an intimately designed lodge in the conservation area adjacent to the Masai Mara. It accommodates 12 guests in 6 cottages, each uniquely furnished with colonial antiques, Persian carpets and African art work. Each cottage is a permanent fixture with private veranda, en-suite bathrooms with Italian bathroom fittings, flushing eco-toilets and running hot/cold water. The atmosphere is informal but elegant.

Not only from the veranda you have a stunning view down to the waterhole by the camp, but even from your bed! In other words, at Saruni Lodge, your safari starts in bed, the moment you open your eyes. From own experience we can promise you, nothing beats the feeling of going to sleep in a safe room but in the presence of wild animals. A little restless in the beginning due to the unfamiliar sounds they make, the exhaustion of your exciting day will soon have this magnificant wildlife accompany you into your dreams. An experience, you will never forget.

Accommodation

Of course the lodge offers all the expected facilities we expect from a high class accommodation, but the Saruni Lodge is something special. Besides a library it also offers the only Wellbeing space in the Mara area. In collaboration with the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees (Stresa, Italy) the Saruni offers massage and wellness treatments under the supervision of highly trained staff. It’s a private cottage hidden in the surrounding valley’s olive and cedar forest and devoted to the use of local plants for beauty and relaxation treatments.

Activities

The Saruni Lodge offers great excursions with bush dinners or bush lunch and remote and completely unkown places. Take the opportunity to have a gourmet lunch at the so called hippo beach.

Other Activities
  • Game drives in open Land Rovers with a professional guide and tracker
  • Escorted bush walks
  • Bush breakfasts, lunches and dinners
  • Bird watching
  • Sundowners

  • Masai Well-being space
