You could take some packets of baby wipes to use instead of a shower and some dryer sheets
to wipe your body down to assist your deoderant! We use the dryer sheets on the dog
occasionally and not only does she smell beautifully but it prevents static electricity! Six days
without a shower and you'll either be attracting all the predators or else they'll stay miles
away from you

Main diet will be cheese & crackers and Instant noodles with a packet soup as a sauce! Ooooh!... Yummy!!

A proper meal if we're in camp around lunch time & have the groceries!
We take a big Thermos which we fill the night before for morning coffee drunk with a couple of cereal bars for breakfast.
We're normally out by sun up depending on park rules......

Lady Kipper came back from shopping laden with instant noodles!.... They're on special offer at the supermarket!!

I would add we got this idea from trekking into the forested mountains of Sumatra, all our meals were Instant noodles with a slice of dried meat or fish added & to be honest we totaly enjoyed them perhaps because we were hungry!

Light to carry & easy to prepare it all means less time at camp & more time with the wildlife, along with crackers, peanut butter (Thanks Fiona) & cheese a feast fit for a King!

Kipper: Perhaps a dumb question, but do you use relatively safe bottled water for boiling your
noodles or just any water you pass along the way?

Wondered if boiling the water would get rid of any germs or parasites in the water? I remember
before my first trip someone advising I take iodine tablets to put in the water which supposedly
would get rid of dangerous "bugs".

If you do just boil water, have you ever had any tummy problems or do you feel boiling is enough?

You hit the nail yet again Jan! First let me tell you a little story.

We were camped on the west side of Nabi Hill, Serangeti, As you know wer're not lovers of roof tents, vehicle weight, packing up every day & so forth.
We do take toilet facilities into the tent, You'd think me a real heathen if I told you what!

OK, I did have a tummy problem in the night & had to leave the tent!
Not far mind!
So as I went about my duties I'm flashing the torch all around, checking, checking! Then my torch picked up two pairs of eyes in the scrub as they came down the hill towards me!!
Need I say but that cleared the problem I'd initially left the tent for & for the record they seemed to take no interest in me & passed about 10 metres behind the tent.
I'm not sure but I think they were Hyena having witnessed Hyena behaviour around our camps in the past.

Back to your question, yes we carry bottled water for drinking & cooking, we do however also carry a water steralization kit but have never used it.
